Apple Store Glasgow Opening Soon?

Or almost time to get in line...

Will the Apple Store Glasgow be opening soon? Will it be open before Leopard ships? Will it be open before the iPhone comes to the UK? Read on for exclusive rumors (exclusive in the sense that I’m making them up) based on post-it notes, fat-pipes, and flat-packs…

What I really want to know is how many times I’ll get to line up outside the new Apple Store: once for the opening, a second time for Leopard’s release, and a third time when the iPhone goes on sale in the UK.

In the best tradition of the online Apple Store, here’s the first clue to the Apple Store’s opening: a post-it note on the door.

The second clue is in the works going on at the corner of the building. The pavement/sidewalk has been dug up, not just to provide space for the immensely fat pipe that will carry the internet into the store, but to provide a final resting place for the wheelbarrow which was used to wheel the opening day t-shirts into the building.

By a bizarre coincidence, the two pages that can be seen lying at the bottom of the excavation contain details of the UK iPhone launch arrangements: date, carrier, prices, and so on, but you’re probably not interested in any of that are you?

The third clue is in this shot of two construction workers taking this mysterious shipment into the building.

Flat-pack boxes

While it may look like a stack of white boxes, closer inspection reveals that each Ive-designed box is made from a white metal alloy and contains a flat-pack Apple Genius. On launch-day these boxes are opened and the Genius expands to full size like a window un-minimizing from the dock.

So there you have it: the Apple Store is probably opening soon; will probably have a connection to the internet; and will probably have a fully-populated Genius Bar.
