The hanging gardens of Babylon
It was King Nebuchadnezzar who built the hanging gardens of Babylon, one of the wonders of the ancient world. The gardens weren’t in fact hanging but were roof terraces that posed the King with all sorts of construction and irrigation challenges, that would have been answered by the Miller Roofscapes website.
Today, some 2,500 years later, using tried and tested systems, roof planting is a very viable tool at the disposal of architects, developers and main contractors as they strive to differentiate their buildings, satisfy planning concerns in environmentally sensitive areas and to demonstrate their willingness to be ecologically compliant.
In partnership
The Miller Roofscapes website has been designed, developed and delivered as a partnership project with MPH working with PyrusMalus as their strategic web partners.

Ask the experts
The Miller Roofscapes site is interactive with visitors able to use the ‘Ask the Experts’ feature to ask questions of the team, experts in every aspect of roof planting. Members of the Royal Institute of British Architecture (RIBA) can also book a RIBA approved CPD seminar on the subject.
Short video clips help to support the photography on the site, demonstrating the many applications possible and the ecological, social, ecological and economic advantages. Cross-section diagrams show the construction build up of the roofing systems.
